Buying a car is an easy task, maintaining it is not. If you want to get the best out of there shall be no internal problems. 
Things to do in regular maintenance
1. MONITOR CAR FLUID LEVELS
Cars rely on a number of fluids to help them keep running properly. It includes brake fluid, engine oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid, battery fluid, transmission fluid, steering fluid etc.
2. VEHICLE LIGHTINGS
All the lights of the car should always be in a working condition to ensure safety. It includes instrument panel lights, brake lights, headlamps, license plate lights, taillights, etc.
3. AIR FILTER
Air filter protects the engine from dust and dirt entering the combustion chamber through air intake system. It should be inspected and cleaned with every oil change and should be changed if needed.
4. TYRES
Check car’s owner’s manual to determine the recommended tyre pressure or look at the sticker on the driver’s door jamb and also it is important to check the wheel alignment 
Bad alignment can lead to vibration on steering wheel and steer towards the other side
5. BRAKES
Brakes should always be in a good condition. To ensure that the brakes are in a good condition keep a check of the brake fluid, ABS, EBD modules, brake pads, etc. It not only ensures your safety but also safety of other people on the road.
